You don’t have to stay at the Opryland Hotel to experience everything it has to offer during the holiday season! Although there are so many fun holiday things to do that you really would never even have to leave the property! From snow tubing to ice sculptures to beautiful light displays inside, the Gaylord Opryland has so much to offer couples and families alike! Here are the things you can do at the Opryland Hotel during the holidays.
Take a river cruise.
Yes, it’s true, the Gaylord Opryland Hotel has a river running through it! For a small fee, you can even get a new perspective of the hotel and take a cruise on it! It is even more magical during the holiday season with all the lights strung up along the river. It is definitely a unique Nashville experience you won’t forget in the new year!
Walk through the hotel.
You will NOT believe your eyes when you walk through the grounds and hotel. You can literally get lost inside (and we actually did for a while, lol)! Just walking through the Gaylord Opryland hotel and seeing all the people, decorations and smelling the amazing holiday smells as you walk in is an experience in itself.
Enjoy the restaurants.
You are allowed to walk through the hotel and enjoy the restaurants and other experiences even if you are not a hotel guest. We actually had not planned on visiting the Opry hotel and randomly decided to while we were in Nashville and I had to google that to find out when we were there.
Check out the indoor waterpark SoundWaves.
SoundWaves is a 4 acre, 3-level upscale indoor/outdoor water attraction with dedicated zones for adults, young children and families. You can normally only experience SoundWaves if you stay on-premise so be sure to keep that in mind if you want to go! The Opryland Hotel reservations fill up fast so you’ll want to book well in advance if you want to stay there.
See the outdoor light displays.
There is a gorgeous light display at the front of the hotel that you have to see if you go! It includes an elaborate nativity scene accompanied by music. They also have beautiful white lights strung on all the trees along the front driveway. It’s absolutely gorgeous!
See the ice sculptures and go tubing!
Want to see themed ice sculptures, go tubing, decorate Gingerbread men, do a scavenger hunt, or go ice skating in Nashville?! You can do all of that and more on the property! You can get tickets to one or all of those things – I have to admit, I do regret not doing the tubing because it looked like a BLAST.
