5 Amazing Places to Eat in Kansas City
Kansas City is the top BBQ destination in the United States, and I’m not the only one who agrees! In 2016, Conde Nast Traveler named Kansas City, Missouri the best food city in the US, with Kansas City, Kansas, coming in at a close #4.
You know it’s got to be good if they named a popular BBQ sauce after it (KC Masterpiece!), and we went to both Kansas City cities to deliver this list to you! The prices were the most reasonable of any location we’ve visited also!
Ready to chow down? Here are 5 amazing places to eat in Kansas City!!
Kansas City Taco Company
If I was stranded on a deserted island and could only eat one thing, it’d definitely be tacos! More specifically the tacos from Kansas City Taco Company!! Yes, you are gonna have to wait probably, but the line moves fast. The customer service and the tacos are to die for so this is a KC must! Oh, and you HAVE to try the queso dip & chips! Like, you HAVE TO!
We waited over an hour to get into this place because the locals we talked to said they liked it better than Joe’s. (Wait, whaaatt?!) So we had to check it out and decided to visit it on our last night in Kansas City. Holy SMOKES, the locals were right. We powered through the wait even though we were starving, it was worth every second. They had the best BBQ we’ve ever had in our lives! We shared the mac and cheese and it was amazing also! We tried the burnt ends, brisket, pulled pork, and ribs because we are thorough like that (lol). All of it beat every Nashville, Memphis and other KC BBQ we had tried.
Are you ready for the best breakfast you’ve (literally) ever had?! If so, head to Succotash in Kansas City! They are known for their Pork Hash (featured on @tripledapp) and it did NOT disappoint. I had the biscuits and gravy. Honestly? They are the best I’ve ever had. (Sorry Biscuit Love!) Succotash was also recently featured on Man vs. Food!
You know it’s not a KC eats list without Joe’s! This BBQ is found in one of the most unusual places – a gas station! This dive-y little place is a Kansas City must! Try the burnt ends, but get there early! There is always a line. They have customer service down to a science though, so you’ll be sipping a beer and snacking on their amazing pulled pork on a sweet texas toast in no-time!
Taps on Main
In the mood for a snack?! Look no further than Taps on Main! The pretzels there are excellent and you can pour your own beer! The cocktails were not great when we went, but you can’t have it all. The pretzels & cheese were where what I was there for and my husband was there for the beer!
