Do you have a power chewer puppy? Our Husky is one of the most aggressive chewers I’ve ever seen. She can literally destroy the most “durable” toy within 20 minutes. She was a ‘power chewer’ even as a pup and has never been able to have toys with fluff and plush. She had a plush owl her first week and then we had to take it away because she was shredding it, lol.
Here are the 6 best puppy teething toys we have found:
Small Kong for Puppies
This was Sassy’s favorite toy! She has the large version and still loves it today. It really stood up to her enthusiastic biting and we definitely recommend it. Sass loves to play fetch and she liked to play fetch with this Kong toy because it had an unpredictable bounce. This thing bounces all over the place so don’t use it near your valuables.’
Nylabone Power Chew Beef-Flavored Toy
Sassy loved this and it stood up to her constant biting until she got a bit older. This is definitely too big for small puppies but would work for medium to large pups. Unlike some of the other toys with little nubs, this one is solid so the nubs won’t come off.
Kong Puppy Tire
Sassy still plays with this tire today, but it is going to need to be replaced soon! The center is starting to break down, but we have had this for over a year and she is HARD on toys. A friend recommended this to me and she was right, Sassy loves this toy!
Sassy loves to play fetch and these are her favorite balls!! She has had the orange one forever and it has withstood biting and fetching for over a year now. We are shocked at how well they’ve stood up to her. They make a fun sound while whizzing through the air that Sass loves too!
Nylabone Power Chew Bones
This was another favorite of Sassy’s, but we had to supervise her while playing with it and chewing on it. If you have a power chewer, these will break down. After a while, we had to throw them away and get new ones.
JW Hol-ee Roller Ball
The name of this one cracks me up. This is another favorite that has lasted! I bought Sassy this ball when she was a puppy and it is still somewhere in our house today. You can put treats in it, but Sass gets plenty of treats outside of her toys, so we’ve only ever used it for play.
