I’m convinced Disney World is one of the most magical places on the planet! I know many others who feel the same, but what is not so magical? The lines! The waits can be long, so which rides and shows should you make a priority? These are the best rides & shows in the Magic Kingdom!!
I visited the Magic Kingdom when I was a child and always wanted to go back. I am so glad I went back as an adult. I was actually in Orlando already doing other things and didn’t even plan my visit. Yes, that’s right, I randomly went to Disney World with no plan! The only thing I regret is not having more time!!
#1. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Get your Fast Pass ready because you’re going to want to use it for this coaster! The lines can be up to an hour and a half long on a busy day in the summer, but it is well worth it!! This was my first coaster ever and it is a blast for the whole family!
I had a lot of anxiety leading up to the actual ride. Also, I did NOT want to be in the front. But of course, I was in the front when I boarded, lol. It was so much fun though and I even bought a Disney trading pin to commemorate my ride. Maybe one day I’ll get up the courage to ride Space Mountain. 😉
#2. Fireworks Show
You have to at least stay one evening in the park to experience the fireworks display near Cinderella’s castle. It was fun to watch all around Orlando (it can be seen from several different places), but it was the best in the park!! Can’t be beat.
#3. The Little Mermaid
Take a journey under the sea and explore the world of the Little Mermaid! This ride was not there when I was 4 (which was a long time ago, lol) so I had to check this one out!! I just love Disney rides and this was one was no exception – you ride through the sea in a seashell!
#4. Country Bears Show
I went to this show when I was 4, and so when I went back to Disney I had to relive this classic! I’m not going to lie, I think it was even more fun now. I loved the jokes that only adults would get. They definitely had me raising my eyebrows! lol
#5. Monsters of Comedy
This Monsters Inc based show was so cool! It was a very interactive show where they called on people in the audience. I don’t know how they make these kinds of shows but it was A HOOT! You definitely can’t miss this one – perfect for the whole family to have a laugh at!
#6. The Hall of Presidents
This show is eerily cool! You get to experience and learn so much about all of our Presidents and our country’s amazing history! It’s amazing how real the presidents all look also!! You can’t miss this.
#6. Jungle Cruise
It’s not a visit to Disney without boarding the Jungle Cruise and seeing elephants and other animals ‘up close’! I had a great jungle cruise guide which made the ride even better. The line wasn’t too long for this one, but it’s a great idea to use your Magic Kingdom park app to check the wait times!
#7. Haunted Mansion
Ready to get a little spooked?! Hit up the Haunted Mansion! This was an eerily fun ride full of amazing effects and a neat storyline. I was too scared to go on this as a child, but as an adult it was very cool!!
#8. Winnie the Pooh
Hop in a pot of honey and experience the world of the Hundred Acre Woods! This ride was also not around my first Disney visit, so I was excited to check it out. Super cute, but difficult to get a clear photo on. Loved it just the same!
#9. Tomorrowland Transit
Check out a birds’ eye view of Tomorrowland via this cool ride! You may spot Mr. Incredible while you’re on it like I did!
#10. It’s a Small World
This is a just classic and you HAVE to ride it if you’re in the Magic Kingdom. It’s still a lovely celebration of the world, our differences and what a truly small world it really is!
There is something about a visit to Disney World that brings the kid out in you. I don’t know what it is, but it’s just that Disney magic! I still haven’t met Minnie Mouse so I’m going to eventually have to go back again – meeting Minnie is officially on my bucket list now!
