Recently, I was listening to the Girl, Wash Your Face audiobook that I got for free from joining Audible. One of the things she talks about is to stop breaking promises to yourself. That really hit home to me because I’m always quitting stuff I’ve started. It’s perpetual and I even annoy myself with it. One of the things Rachel talks about giving up is Diet Coke. And I thought to myself, “I should do that! I should really be giving up soda.”
So I did.
I’m currently in my 4th week of being soda-free (other than the one day my husband ordered a Coke for me at a restaurant trying to sabotage me, lol). I feel great and after the first week, I don’t really even miss it. I’m really glad I made giving up soda a priority for myself.
The first week was hell with the cravings that came with it. I don’t know if they have something in soda that makes you crave it, but I struggled. This second week was much better, and it got progressively easier from there. By the third week, I was just cooking along chugging water like a pro!
I thought if I had something pretty to use to track my habit change it might help me, so I made a tracking sheet! I love traditional habit trackers, but I really wanted to change ONE habit first before I tackled more.
