Back in May, I got a new job that requires me to commute about 45 minutes one way. I quickly got tired of just listening to the radio and I decided I wanted to make this productive time in my day. In order to make the most of this time, I decided I’d switch it up – here’s what I did to rock my daily commute!!
#1. Listen to Audiobooks.
I had never listened to one single audiobook before my new commute. I decided to try Audible and I listened to “Girl Wash Your Face”. Audiobooks are my new favorite thing now! I have listened to both fiction and non-fiction and I actually look forward to my commutes with my audiobooks
#2. Use your commute to learn with podcasts.
I never used to listen to podcasts much either, but now they are ALL THE RAGE, y’all. There’s a podcast out there about everything. I subscribe to my favorites and listen on my way to work, which include the Goal Digger Podcast, Influencer Podcast by Julie Solomon, Oprah’s Master Class, and The Life Coach School with Brook Castillo. I could write a whole posts on podcasts themselves if y’all need it because I’m obsessed.
#3 Don’t sweat the small stuff.
Traffic is going to happen and there is going to inevitably be road construction when you least expect it! These are things you can never know about, but you can get Waze and that’ll help some. I turn Waze on every single day as I head out to my job. It helps me to know what to expect. That being said, you just have to know that even with Waze, there will be times you’ll have to explain to your boss why you were late and promise to make up a few or 20 extra minutes.
Do you commute? If so, how do you make the most of it! I’d love some additional tips, leave one in the comments.
