Hi, I’m Laura! It’s so nice to meet you!
I’m just a small-town southern Illinois girl with big dreams to travel the world! I’m mostly known for being an overly obsessed dog mom to Sassy, loving a good glass of wine and spotting palm trees from miles away!
My mission? To show you how to travel fearlessly.
You may see me hop on a plane and explore new places now, but I wasn’t always this way. I used to be super afraid of, not only flying, but going anywhere new. As a teen, I was riddled with anxiety that was so bad I never wanted to stay overnight anywhere but home and my grandparents house.
When I finally moved out on my own, I realized how scared of everything I truly was and sought help. After I dealt with my anxiety head-on, everything changed! Before I wasn’t sure if I could fly for 3 hours, let alone across an ocean. Anxiety is something I will deal with for the rest of my life, but I refuse to let it define me and what I can do! My husband is the best supporter and cheerleader around and I couldn’t ask for a better travel partner.
We took our first trip together to San Francisco after only a few months of dating and it remains one of my favorite trips ever. We eloped in 2018 and we honeymooned in Paris!
How do dogs fit into this partay, you ask?!
Well on my birthday in 2017, we brought home a beautiful, sweet and feisty Siberian Husky that we named Sassy.
When we travel we have to leave her and it breaks our hearts – in fact, we have two favorite parts of coming home: hugging our two sons, and kissing our sweet Sassy girl!! It’s not easy to leave your furbaby when you travel, but we know her well enough to know that she is happier with the staff at her daycare & boarding place than boarding a plane with us.
When I’m not busy working on my blog or my business, you can catch us Netflix binging on the couch, taking our kiddos on an adventure, or playing ball with Sassy in the back yard!
I created this blog to document our adventures, show you that it is possible to travel with anxiety and depression, and share tangible tips on how to raise and care for your pup! I am so glad you are here!!
