We started out our evenings in Memphis at the rooftop bar at the Madison Hotel (update 1/1/19: this hotel has now been completely remodeled and also renamed), where we stayed. We watched the sunset both nights and just absolutely LOVED the vibe up there. It was super busy the second night we were there, but it was still fantastic. The view there was better than the view at the nearby Peabody rooftop, but it was just one of the 4 coolest bars we found in Memphis.
I heard that they were remodeling the restaurant and the rooftop in the hotel. I hope they don’t do anything crazy because it was so cool. After we hung out up there, we took a Uber down to Beale Street!
Beale Street at night is something to see! I’ve never experienced anything like it. We went out both nights we were there and had so much fun!
One was BB King’s Blues Club! We saw great live music there both nights. We danced to the band playing “Purple Rain” and it was just a great atmosphere. It was crowded because it was Beale St in summer, but it wasn’t so crowded we couldn’t get drinks or sit down. I can’t wait to go back!
Another hang out we LOVED was Blues City Cafe! A hip band called the High Jivers played there both nights and we made it a point to go there the second night just so we could see them again. Although the food smelled amazing, we didn’t try it so that’s on our list for next time.
Another place we really liked was Silky O’Sullivan’s. They had an outdoor bar and awesome outdoor space to sit in. My personal favorite was their “Irish Diving Goats” that are pets there that they had trot down a slide/hill. Definitely made our visit there memorable and it was something you don’t normally see at a bar. We loved it!
